Liverpool is a place renowned for its love of music and food, and this May the city will see a brand-new concept being launched devised by the team behind Jacaranda Records. Part Record Store, part bar, part live venue and part restaurant PHASE ONE is a pop up, but it’s one with a future that you can be part of.
This ambitious project is set to be the next stage in the evolution of the record shop. In a disused building at the bottom of Seel Street, PHASE ONE have tried to cram in everything you could ever want out of a record store: a huge vinyl range, custom listening booths, food, drink, exclusive live performances and DJ sets as well as an outdoor courtyard and killer cocktail menu; not to mention a recording studio, practice rooms and music tuition rooms.
With thousands of vinyl’s for sale, and true to the original Jacaranda Records concept, there are 4 listening booths built from converted garden sheds to play the vinyl while you eat and drink. You can listen to what you want, when you want. The basement will house the new purpose-built recording studio with an audience viewing area, teaching rooms and glass fronted office spaces for Jacaranda Records Ltd., the record label. This cool concept is giving you the opportunity to catch a glimpse of your favourite artist recording new material, or a chance to witness the latest new act being signed.
Kicking off the late May bank holiday weekend at 5pm on Friday 25th May through to Sunday 2am, and open every weekend throughout the summer, you’ll get to witness the project’s evolution as the venue is set to host a plethora of big shows, club nights and events. The launch party will take you through the bank holiday weekend with a whole host of live music in a festival style line up, followed by the city’s best club nights including some ticketed events for worldwide acts.
Set to bring something fresh to the city, with indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy, Jacaranda Records: PHASE ONE has an exciting future ahead of it. This hub is intended to provide you with one of the best multi-functional space in Liverpool and to provide the team with a means of developing it to be one of the most interesting, unique and progressive projects to have happened in recent years.
So, what can we expect from PHASE ONE once the final touches have been made? It will be a fully functional studio, a record shop housing double the vinyl they opened with (10k in total), a bar with an outstanding offering, incredible coffee and exceptional food.
