A brand-new six-part primetime television series called Secret Life of the Safari Park will centre on Knowsley Safari and air on Channel 4 starting on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 8 p.m.
The hour-long weekly programmes, which are produced by Blast! Films, the company behind The Supervet and The Secret Life of the Zoo, centre on the remarkable animals of the Safari, the incredible keepers who look after them, and a few of the more than 500,000 visitors that the popular safari receives each year.
The amazing lives of some of the rarest and most endangered animals on the planet are explored in fascinating detail by Lancashire actress Maxine Peake. A unique chance to learn about the fascinating backstories of the animals, which viewers can choose to see in person, is presented in The Secret Life of the Safari Park.
The African Lion pride hierarchy, the potentially dangerous birth of a Congo Buffalo calf, the mischievous Fallow deer Cosmo getting into mischief while attempting to impress the females, and the antics of a baboon coming of age are the main topics of the first episode.
Rachel Scott, Head of Marketing, Knowsley Safari, says:
“It’s been an amazing opportunity and a real adventure having the Blast! film crew on site at the Safari. They’ve captured some magical moments of our remarkable animals, as well as our fabulous animal team and some of our wonderful guests too. We’re so excited to see everyone’s reactions to the show – viewers are in for a real treat with high-quality, genuine behind-the-scenes access to the Safari.”
Every week, Secret Life of the Safari Park will also be accessible to stream on Channel 4 on demand.
