Faces behind the Business – Vahid Nagori - Green Bell Packaging

When did you first get into the industry?

I studied for a Bachelors in Pharmaceutical Sciences in India and a Masters in Pharmaceutical Analysis from the University of Bradford here in the UK.

I started my career in pharmaceutical research and innovation and then jumped to business management roles across a variety of industries all around the country – I have over ten years’ experience within the industry.

In India, my family has been involved in packaging manufacturing for the last 20 years, which inspired me to launch the same packaging business in the UK in 2015, with a mission to reduce plastic pollution and provide plastic free alternatives to businesses of all sectors and sizes.

How long have you worked at Green Bell Packaging and what is your job role?

I founded the company in 2015 – so I’ve been here for six years. To this day, I remain heavily involved in all aspects of the business including business development, product testing and development, managing the team and liaising with clients.

What is Green Bell Packaging’s ethos?

I set up the business as I’m truly passionate about sustainability, and wanted to not only raise awareness of plastic waste and the damage it does to the planet and the ocean, but to offer up solutions that genuinely made a difference to consumers.

What’s the best bit of advice you could give to anyone looking at working in your line of work?

Our line of work is ever-changing, so it’s important to keep on top of the news within our sector. When it comes to sustainability, legislation is updating all of the time so anybody within our industry needs to keep their fingers on the pulse.

It’s also important to be passionate about the cause – whether it’s the plastic in the oceans or climate change. By really caring about current issues, you can make a change within your business that has a huge impact worldwide.

What do you love most about Liverpool?

The people of Liverpool and the huge range of businesses within the city – we’ve worked with so many incredible companies from Liverpool Seafarers Centre to Storm fashion through to hospitality and restaurants including Midnight Delivery and EastZEast to name a few.

We’ve also found that Liverpool is a very conscious city when it comes to sustainability – it really feels that everyone is coming together to make a change. We’ve seen many of our clients, particularly those in hospitality, looking to make ethical and conscious changes to their packaging in recent times.

If you could describe your business in 3 words what would they be?

Innovative, forward-thinking and ethical.
