Cavalleria Rusticana & Pagliacci

May 11

North Wales Opera is returning to Liverpool this spring, bringing two of the world’s most cherished operas to life. Beginning their tour in North Wales, the company will culminate their performances in their ‘Liverpool home,’ delivering an unmissable celebration of verismo opera with Cavalleria Rusticana(Mascagni) and Pagliacci (Leoncavallo).

With a stellar cast featuring principal singers from Norway, America, Greece, Italy, and our very own Kirby, Liverpool these performances promise an unforgettable evening of drama and beauty. Audiences can look forward to experiencing the most iconic moments of the verismo tradition, including the glorious Easter Hymn and Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, and the heart-wrenching Vesti la giubba from Pagliacci.

Under the expert leadership of internationally renowned soprano Anne Williams-King, North Wales Opera is proud to add Pagliacci to their repertoire. This marks their return to St George’s Hall after a critically acclaimed performance of Cavalleria Rusticana in autumn 2018.

Artistic Director Anne Williams-King leads a team of exceptional talent, including Musical Director Andrew Charity, Assistant Musical Director Jonathan Ellis, and the Ensemble SY1 under the direction of Ensemble Leader Alex Postlethwaite.

These operas will be performed in their original languages, and no sur/subtitles will be displayed.

Children five and older are allowed in the concert room if they have their own ticket and sit with an adult. If you are accompanying children under the age of 16 you must be over 18 and you must sit next to them and ensure their good behaviour throughout the performance.

Early bird tickets (book before 16/3/25), group discounts (groups of six) and carer tickets are available. Blue Light Card Holder discounts are available, but they must provide their ID upon admission if a Blue Light Ticket has been purchased.
