Circus donates its home to local charity ‘Kind’ to help provide 1,500 hampers this Christmas

For the second year in a row, the founders of club brand Circus and TEC UK who deliver the shows are donating their home, Blackstone Warehouse, to local charity, Kind, to be used as a space to create 1,500 food and clothing hampers for disadvantaged families across Liverpool and Merseyside this Christmas.

In addition to this, Circus is also hosting a further fundraiser at 24 Kitchen Street in the Baltic Triangle, on this Saturday (17th December) featuring a DJ set from Yousef and a host of local and up and coming talent, with all proceeds going to Kind.

Kind is a Liverpool based charity that has been making a difference in the lives of thousands of families in need in the North West since 1975, with this year being the charity’s 47th Christmas appeal.

Last year’s appeal reached more than 10,000 disadvantaged children and families, and this year, with the help and generosity of Circus, the charity aims to show families that people in their community care about them, making Christmas one to remember, not one to forget.

The project is four days long, starting on Monday 19th December when all of the hamper items will arrive at Blackstone’s warehouse to be packed up by more than 50 dedicated volunteers, including many employees of TEC UK and Circus. The hampers are packed with approximately 80 items each designed to last over a week, to include fruit, veg and tinned goods, before they are sent out to families for Christmas on Thursday 22nd December.

The Christmas appeal is the largest in the region and Kind pays for everything themselves, spending every penny raised on creating and distributing the hampers. The cost this year is estimated to be approximately £110K to create their target of 1,500 hampers along with hundreds of toy parcels and clothing bundles.

Kind founder, Stephen Yip, comments:

“The guys from Circus and TEC UK have played Santa Claus this year again, without a warehouse of this size we physically could not execute this Christmas appeal and reach so many families”.

Circus founder, Yousef, adds:

“We’re really happy to be able to donate our resources to Kind once again this year, it’s such an amazing charity that helps so many families in Liverpool, and it’s great to be part of such an important cause”.
