New festival Mersey Makers Market announces full programme

Mersey Makers Market, a brand-new, free-to-attend festival from Bruntwood SciTech in collaboration with CBRE, is coming to Liverpool’s city centre on the 20th March, has now unveiled its full programme of traders and events.

Curated in celebration of Liverpool’s status as one of the UK’s leading cities of innovation, Mersey Makers Market will bring together a plethora of the skilled talent, innovation and diverse creativity that the city has to offer.

Brand new festival “Mersey Makers Market” announces FULL programme of traders and events

An indie pop-up market of 20 stalls will form the heart of the action, located in St Paul’s Square outside The Plaza from 10am-2pm. With everything from solar powered Birchwood jewellery, to a VR simulator, to custom art prints, and free health checks, there’s a dynamic range of incredible traders and independent businesses to explore.

Live music will be curated by the established Liverpool agency, New Power Soul Club, who will be programming the stage with a line up of local artists from their incredible roster, featuring talent from the iconic Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.

Local street food vendors will be popping up with the likes ofSlice of Fire Pizza serving up authentic Neapolitan sourdough pizza, and Taka Taka Mam bringing traditional Greek dishes from its award-winning mobile kitchen.

Visitors can also have a go at creating their own piece of ‘Living Art’ with Emma’s Wild Garden, a plant-crafting workshop taking place at 12pm and 1:15pm in The Plaza.

The full list of confirmed traders taking part in Bruntwood SciTech’s Mersey Makers Market is as follows:

  • Annie Moon Ceramics – unique, hand-crafted ceramics – from functional homeware to decorative pieces.
  • Little LEAF at One Fine Day – providing iced teas, savoury snacks and sweet treats.
  • ETC Designs – locally-made, bespoke jewellery pieces.
  • Bisbaas Sauce – the original Somali Hot Sauce, filled with the distinctive taste of the traditional tribes of Somaliland.
  • Megan & Willow – handcraft soaps, bath salts and skincare.
  • Sophie Green – contemporary Liverpool artist and illustrator.
  • To The Moon – eco-conscious, luxury home fragrance scents and hand-poured candles.
  • Dot-art – affordable, locally-sourced prints from Liverpool artists.
  • Make Life Kind – stop by the youth charity’s stall to check out their clothing line and donate to a good cause with 100% of profits going towards supporting young people with social, safety and stigmatised topics.
  • Coco Bear Dog Boutique – browse the collection of grain free, hypoallergenic natural dog treats for your furry friends.
  • Wellbeing Doctors – doctor-led workplace health and wellbeing, offering health checks throughout the day.
  • Little Spoon – food-stall serving artisan jams, chutneys and sauces.
  • Felt Factory – hand-stitched and beautifully designed wool felt goodies.
  • Fustaq Florals – providing gorgeous custom flower arrangements for every occasion.
  • Bean Coffee – Independent Speciality Coffee Roasters providing sweet treats.
  • Skaüswood– Solar powered Birchwood jewellery, artwork & product design.
  • VR Here – mobile VR Simulator experiences

The event celebrates the completion of the £4m transformation of the city’s landmark Plaza building and the Grade II listed Cotton Exchange innovation hubs. The Plaza now features new health and wellbeing amenities, a new roof terrace event space and transformation of the 7th floor, where, due to demand, there are now more flexible opportunities for smaller businesses to join the innovation hub. These investments form part of Bruntwood SciTech’s efforts to continue supporting the development of Liverpool’s city-wide innovation ecosystem – an area of huge growth for the city which has become one of the UK’s emerging hubs for technology and life sciences.
