Celebrating 35 years in business, Booker Flower & Gifts are rewarding ‘Community Champions’ across Liverpool some very special bouquets.
The Independent South Liverpool florist, will be gearing up to celebrate its 35-year business milestone this August by gifting bouquets to 35 nominated community champions from across the city.
Headed up by owner Gemma Wakerley, the much-loved local business has become a firm favourite for customers across the North West for bespoke floristry and will be marking this monumental anniversary by gifting bouquets to 35 deserving community champions. Handmade arrangements will even include a select number in coral and jade, traditional colours used to mark a 35-year anniversary.
Since taking over Booker Flowers & Gifts in 2010, Gemma has transformed the business with new services leading to a significant increase in wedding bookings working with over 50 brides and grooms a year, earning the title of ‘Three Best Rated Florist’ in Liverpool, alongside being named ‘North West Regional Winner’ in the prestigious ‘English Wedding Awards’ in 2018.
Gemma said:
“The last few months have been difficult for independent businesses across the region as we continue to adapt to new ways of working, but we feel incredibly thankful that we have been able to face those challenges and come out stronger than ever. It’s fantastic that we’re now able to celebrate such an important birthday with our friends, family and customers in the community by giving something back. We’re asking people to tell us who they think deserves the title of Community Champion and we’ll do the rest, creating a stunning bouquet for our chosen nominees.”
Booker Flowers & Gifts, located in Mossley Hill, is renowned for its floristry work for every occasion, with seven-day delivery available across Merseyside and the surrounding areas.
Gemma added:
“As a small, local business, we are delighted to be celebrating our 35th anniversary – an achievement that I feel is a real testament to our progressive attitude, combined with our traditional values when it comes to customer service and a passion for what we do. Despite being around for more than three decades, the business has really thrived in the last ten years since I took over the helm. It was important to me to offer our customers top quality in terms of products and services and really work with the best interest of our community at heart. As part of that, we introduced our eco-packaging with environmentally friendly bouquet boxes and wrappings used as the standard across all of our products.
“In the time that I’ve been owner, and with the support from my wonderful team, we’ve been able to quadruple our turnover and have really advanced our events services which has seen us work across the North West, as far as Merseyside, Wirral, Lancashire and Cheshire. Alongside the work that we do with brides and grooms-to-be, we’re also working on other events, including our annual ‘Christmas Floral Demonstration’, which last year saw us raise almost £2,000 for Marie Curie and Alder Hey.
“Being community-centred has always been a priority for me, and it seemed only fitting to involve our long-standing customers and residents of Liverpool in our upcoming celebrations.”
To mark its business anniversary, Booker Flowers & Gifts will also be rewarding every customer spending over £35 with 10% off their next purchase, available both online and in store.
