Sefton Park will play host to the UK’s largest celebration of African & Caribbean music and culture once again, when Africa Oyé returns for 2019!
The Garifuna Collective from Belize and legendary reggae artist Horace Andy will headline the 27th annual Africa Oyé festival this summer.
Other acts announced are South Africa’s BCUC and Algerian Rai stars Sofiane Saidi & Mazalda, America’s OSHUN, Moonlight Benjamin and Senegal’s Carlou D.
Opening the main stage music programme on the Saturday of the festival is Essex born, Liverpool based, cellist and singer songwriter, Satin Beige. On Sunday will be the rapidly emerging solo artist, Tabitha Jade.
You can also expect free workshops, DJ sessions, children’s entertainment and much, much more!
The festival has played host to artists from nations right across Africa and also programmes music from South America and The Caribbean with Salsa, Soca and Reggae always a popular addition to the festivities. With Over 40 stalls selling the best food, drink, arts and crafts and fashion from Africa and beyond, this FREE family friendly festival is one not to be missed.
