New LFC painting marks Liverpool FC’s history

New LFC painting marks Liverpool FC's history

Linking two great managers who resigned 50 years apart, an iconic new painting marks LFC’s history. With the original, limited edition prints and posters on sale, Graham Finch’s latest masterpiece from ICE Gallery, Much More Important Than That, catches Bill Shankly and Jurgen Klopp like never before.

Following an amazing 9 years of tenure, 50 years after Bill Shankly ended his enigmatic 15-year reign that set Liverpool’s dominance as a club, Jurgen Klopp announced his resignation as manager in 2024. The stunning new work of art catches them both, and indeed, this historical fact links them brilliantly.

Much More Important Than That is the curation of Graham Finch’s ICE (Iconic Collectible Editions), a concept that consists of a collective of top artists who produce unique and significant works of art. This particular piece has been painstakingly painted by their prodigy Cam Pickstock, aka Cam Createz, and binds two Liverpool greats by the words ‘THANK YOU’ and ‘YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE’.

ICE are renowned for creating unique limited edition pieces of art that have profound meanings behind them. Graham Finch works with a very small number of highly talented artists collaborating on specific projects that they develop together, such as Beyond Lies More and Orangutan.

Named after Shankly’s famous quote, the original Much More Important Than That painting, 1metre x 1metre canvas, framed featuring a title plaque, is on sale for £10,000. Limited Edition 750mm x 750mm canvas prints, framed and signed by the artist, are available for £495. Alternatively, 70cm x 70cm Deluxe Posters are available for just £25.

Curator Graham Finch said:

“Bill Shankly’s influence on Liverpool Football Club transcends mere managerial success; it encompasses the very essence of the club’s identity and ethos and has been the foundation for everything that has come since. Meanwhile, Jürgen Klopp’s time as Liverpool manager has been nothing short of brilliant, epitomised by his passion, high-intensity tactical play and infectious charisma.”

“To capture their immortal spirit and energy and to bind them both together through art, in commemoration of the 50 years between their respective resignations, is very powerful and an honour to produce.”

Much More Important Than That is the latest masterpiece from ICE Gallery’s Cam Createz, capturing Bill Shankly and Jurgen Klopp like never before, symbolising 50 years between their resignations. The original, limited edition prints and posters are on sale now.

You can purchase the original, limited edition prints or posters here.
