The BPPA Exhibition, the annual exhibition of the British Press Photographers’ Association, will take place at the historic Port Sunlight from June 8 to September 1. Merseyside hosts the exhibition for the first time, following a successful showcase in London’s Southbank.
Showcasing the best of press photography, the exhibition features the top 100 images from BPPA members. One of Port Sunlight’s most unique Arts and Crafts-style homes, Bridge Cottage, will be transformed into a changing exhibition of these images throughout the summer. It also held a popular exhibition of Peaky Blinders costumes last year.

The BPPA is presenting the exhibition in association with Port Sunlight Village Trust, the independent charity in charge of maintaining and promoting the famous Wirral village, which was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to provide housing for Sunlight Soap factory workers.
Jean Milton, Director of Heritage at Port Sunlight Village Trust, said:
“We’re delighted The BPPA has chosen to bring their annual exhibition to Port Sunlight and Merseyside for the first time. It is a fantastic moment for all lovers of photography and gives visitors a unique opportunity to see the biggest moments of the past year through the lens of British press photographers.”
Since its founding in the middle of the 1980s, The BPPA has worked to advance and encourage the best moral, technical, and artistic standards in the field. This year, it will once more present an exhibition of images from the forefront of journalism.
