This summer, Liverpool will host the UK premiere of a breathtaking immersive multimedia show celebrating the life and remarkable artworks of Vincent van Gogh. Today, the show’s producers announced that they are extending the show’s run because of the overwhelming interest from the general public.

Exhibition Centre Liverpool is scheduled to host Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience, with an opening date of June 27.

Timed tickets went on sale last week, and several of the show’s weekend sessions have already sold out due to the high demand. Producers Annerin Productions and Paquin Entertainment Group have therefore decided to add an additional 10 days to the show’s original two-and-a-half-week run.

This means that guests can now enjoy this incredible experience every day until Wednesday, July 24.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience tells the story of one of the most influential artists in history by fusing more than 300 of the post-Impressionist icon’s paintings with state-of-the-art technology and a musical soundtrack that has been specially chosen.

His paintings are transformed from two-dimensional spaces into three-dimensional, completely immersive scenes that ebb and flow with colour and movement, creating an adrenaline-filled experience for the senses.

With the help of his own words, thoughts, and dreams, visitors are taken on a journey through the artist’s world from darkness to light. This amazing narrative experience is sure to captivate both art enthusiasts and fans of Van Gogh, as well as a whole new generation of art enthusiasts.

Starting in the Introduction Hall, guests can establish a personal connection with Vincent van Gogh by reading the letters he wrote to Theo, his brother and biggest fan. After that, visitors enter the Immersive Room, the focal point of the show, where Van Gogh’s paintings are completely unframed, taking over the room and engrossing viewers in the breathtaking detail of his creations. The room awakens viewers’ imaginations in a whimsical and surreal way, as they find themselves surrounded by vibrant flowers, charming cafés, and breathtaking landscapes that shift and swirl across the walls and floor covered in projections.

This is a great way to get an introduction to Van Gogh’s world and establish a connection with the man who created the amazing paintings, even if you are not very familiar with them.

Additionally, there’s the opportunity to participate in exclusive Saturday morning yoga classes held inside the exhibition. Meanwhile, flexible arrival times, fast-track entry, and a selection of Beyond Van Gogh merchandise are included with VIP Experience tickets.

Having seen Liverpool in the popular Broadway and West End Beatles musical revue show Let It Be, Annerin Productions decided to stage the premiere there.

Anna Parry, UK Business Development at Annerin Productions, said today:

“We’re excited to announce the extension of Beyond Van Gogh in Liverpool. It’s a testament to the overwhelming demand and unwavering support from the city of Liverpool.

“This response reaffirms Liverpool’s passion for art and culture, and we’re thrilled to provide this extended opportunity for residents and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the transformative world of Van Gogh’s masterpieces.”

Colm Graham, Head of Partnerships, Hospitality and Exhibition Sales at Exhibition Centre Liverpool, added:

“We’re delighted that the public are as enthusiastic about Beyond Van Gogh as we are. The response from our community has been phenomenal with Ticket Quarter selling thousands of tickets already.

We’re thrilled that the exhibition has been extended by a further ten days allowing so many more people to experience this exciting and dynamic event, and we’re really looking forward to working with Anna and her team to deliver the UK premiere.”
