Next week, during the home game against Crystal Palace on Monday 19 February, Everton in the Community will mark its 36th anniversary. The Club’s charitable branch is urging Everton supporters to lend their support to their fundraising efforts by participating in the ‘Be Sound, Bring A Pound’ campaign.

On Monday evening, EitC staff and volunteers will be present with buckets, asking fans to donate £1 to help raise £40,000. The charity hopes to raise an amount that represents the capacity of Goodison Park. All money raised will go towards developing Everton in the Community’s life-changing work in Liverpool 4 and other areas.

Since 1988, Everton in the Community has been offering vital support to the most vulnerable people in Liverpool City Region. Through its effective and groundbreaking programs, the organization has been instrumental in building stronger communities and providing hope for a brighter future.

The charity supported by the Club has provided aid to more than tens of thousands of people through over 60 different initiatives and programmes in the past year. If you are unable to attend the Monday night’s game or wish to contribute before the event, the charity provides an opportunity for supporters to demonstrate their support by making an online donation here.

Everton in the Community can create more than £29 in social value with a donation of £1. Social value is the assessment of the benefits generated by an organization as a part of their regular operations. This evaluation considers the value for money produced by the charity along with the wider advantages for society through the direct impact on people’s lives, the economy, and the environment.

Your donation of £1 can go a long way in terms of social value. For instance, it can be used to provide travel passes to a group of young people, ensuring they have access to education. Alternatively, it can be used to fund one-on-one English lessons for a refugee in Liverpool, helping them integrate into the local community. Additionally, your donation can help a charity deliver a reminiscence workshop to individuals living with dementia or provide PE kits to children living in poverty.

The charity is requesting fans to contribute to their mass bucket collection and participate in the ‘Be Sound, Bring A Pound’ campaign. Alongside this, Everton in the Community is commemorating its annual birthday game, with 11 junior mascots and a Toffee Lady accompanying Sean Dyche’s starting 11 onto Goodison Park amidst the thunderous sound of Z-Cars. Furthermore, players will be demonstrating their continued support for the charity by wearing Everton in the Community t-shirts during warm-up.

In support of its fundraising efforts, Everton in the Community will receive the match-worn shirts from the recent fixture, which have been generously donated by Everton Football Club. Information about how you can bid on these shirts will be announced in due course.

Fans can participate in a prize draw to win these tickets by donating £5 or more. The entry for the prize draw is available here.
