Liverpool baking sensation Desserts by Dre will be opening his highly anticipated shop on Penny Lane in the next 2 weeks.

The Desserts By Dre shop will be opening every weekend from early December & will be stocking his delectable sweet treats & also a vast selection of savoury items  along with daily specials too. Customers can also purchase coffees & artisan hot chocolates. He will also be stocking BBC Snack masters winner Sarah Mountains. chocolates.

Dre commented:

‘I am very excited to be able to have my own premises in such an iconic area for independents too. I’ve worked really hard to develop my cakes & brand and the timing was perfect for me to expand & set up my own shop. I’m extremely grateful to each and everyone of my customers & stockists’

Dre Carrington, 40, is the man behind the successful Desserts By Dre brand, which he started 3 years ago and his treat boxes became  a lockdown must!

Originally from Barbados, trained chef Dre moved to England in 2008 & soon found is second home in Liverpool. Although he worked in many successful establishments as a Head chef his passion was somewhere else which to his customers delight he set up Desserts by Dre.

Dre used to bake in his spare time & his love for baking stemmed from his dad:

“From around 7 years old, i used to love helping my dad bake, & it was him who taught me how to it. We used to experiment with recipes & flavours every week, one of my favourite recipes that i still use today is my Barbadian black rum cake, which is named after my dad Austin.  It’s made with mixed fruits, Barbadian rum and Guinness, it’s very decadent and we used to have it every Christmas & make it for family, friends & neighbours every year. Its actually also become one of my best sellers here too!’

Dre started out his business by attending makers markets, his first one at the Bombed Out Church was a sell out & this continued at each market he went to. His Instagram following started at 200 for his first market and now Desserts By Dre has over 15,000 followers. Dre ready stocks many high profile venues, coffee shops and tourist hot spots in the city & his products are a firm Scouse favourite!
