Merseyside Police invite communities to Huyton and Stockbridge Village Together event

Merseyside Police invite communities to Huyton and Stockbridge Village Together event

Merseyside Police are inviting communities to bid for money to fund local projects aimed at bettering the community and reducing violence at their Together event.

This event follows on from a similar successful event in Kirkby which was hosted in February last year. This saw twelve community groups receiving up to £2,000 to fund inspiring projects in their area.

Along with their partners across Knowsley, Merseyside Police are now hosting the second of these events based around community projects in the Huyton and Stockbridge Village areas.

Groups are invited to pitch their project to an audience who will then decide how much funding they will receive.

Local Policing Inspector Peter Rexwinkel said:

“The Huyton and Stockbridge Village Together event will aim to welcome many amazing groups in the area and give them the opportunity to receive funding to further develop existing projects and start new ones as well as providing a positive opportunity for our communities to meet each other, build relationships and networks.

“I am excited to see what projects are brought to the table and would urge anyone who thinks they’ve got an initiative underway that would benefit from some extra funding, to get involved!”

Cllr Graham Morgan, Leader of Knowsley Council, said:

“Kirkby Together was an incredibly uplifting and positive event that showcased some of the inspirational organisations that we have here in Knowsley. Kirkby Together, along with Huyton and Stockbridge Village Together, are great examples of Knowsley Better Together in action – sharing ideas, expertise and resources for the benefit of Knowsley and its residents.”
