Culture City turn the big 3!

Culture City turn the big 3!

CULTURE CITY turns 3, from moving into the Royal Liver Building and launching their new website, let the celebrations begin!

The idea was formed when a group of students from John Moores studying Film and Media wanted to learn skills on the job whilst also promoting culture in our city.

The company began creating online videos to promote and showcase music, theatre and art from Liverpool. Since then we have evolved, creating music videos, documentaries and corporate films for a range of clients including Boy George, Robbie Fowler, Gor- don Brown, Miles Kane, CAST, Ian Prowse, Space, Mic Lowry, Bernard Butler, The Lot- tery Winners, BOSCH, The Anfield Wrap, Lamont Dozier, OPEN Media, Gerry Marsden, Tim Burgess, The Racket, Noddy Holder, Louis Berry and many more.

2020, like for everyone else was unbelievably tough for the team. In March they were meant to be expanding from their six person office in Mann Island, taking on their second, much bigger space (In the Royal Liver Building).

Everything was looking good. Culture City had good retainers and big projects in the pipeline. Due to COVID-19 the opposite has happened. the business drastically changed. The team lost all of their regular work, as well as their latest team member had to return home to Switzerland and all of our other work has been postponed/ cancelled until further notice. Adding also the stress of two offices to pay for and nobody in them!

After an awful start to the year, the work started coming in. The team are lucky to be back in a strong postion and have recently created content for the likes of NIKE, Seven Store, Scotts, Soccer AM and CBRE. We’ve finally moved into our huge new office space in the Royal Liver Building, reached a huge milestone of their 3rd Birthday and the new website will be going live on the 19th.

Joe Campbell says:

“In all honesty we’ve never really shouted about what we do, but because we struggled so much at the start of the pandemic, we think it makes sense to talk about our recent success and everyone needs a bit of positivity right now!.”
