ExcludedUK are delighted to announce a LIVE event with Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, supported by Mayors Andy Burnham (Mayor of Greater Manchester) and Steve Rotheram (Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region) who back our calls for parity and urgent financial support for the three million people who have been denied access to fair and meaningful government support for over 8 months.
Sonali Joshi, Founder and Director of Communications & Policy, ExcludedUK will host the joint event (Friday 20 November) about individuals and businesses excluded from meaningful Government financial support schemes – affecting 3m in the UK.
The mayors are joining forces to fight for parity for those the length and breadth of the country who have been excluded from SEISS for entirety of the pandemic.
These are self-employed people who have grafted and toiled to build up their businesses, and now been left with nothing. It’s a growing mental health crisis, with many now being pushed to their very limits, faced with losing their homes, increasing debt and with nowhere left to turn.
Those directly affected by this scandal also will be speaking, telling their stories and opening up about what they have experienced so far.
Press & media will be in attendance and a limited number of spaces are available as part of the live (virtual) audience, applications on a first-come first-served basis. The event will be screened LIVE online between 1pm – 2pm via our social channels.
