109 Allerton tops the polls as Liverpool’s most popular restaurant

  • August 23, 2019
  • Editor

Since taking over 109 Allerton in leafy South Liverpool in March of this year Ray Taylor and his team have seen their restaurant rise to be named Liverpool’s current most popular restaurant on TripAdvisor and become known as the go to eatery for superfoods!

Located right at the heart of Allerton Road, 109 Allerton serves a variety of modern cuisines in a relaxed atmosphere. Ray and his team pride themselves on natural ingredients, a high-quality product, and excellent service.

Small and intimate with only 33 covers and several seats nestled by the bar the restaurant is owned and managed by the experienced Ray Taylor. With nearly 25 years in the industry working for the likes of Living Ventures he a vast knowledge of the world of food and drink. Ray said “I have worked at several sites over the years but working under the industry legend that was Tim Bacon of Living Ventures whilst based at the Living Room in Liverpool gave me priceless experience. Doing things simple but well.”

Ray continued “When we took over the site earlier in the year the aim was to create a real neighbourhood restaurant. One that you can call into for a good healthy breakfast, lunch or book dinner for an evening with friends”

The venue has been a huge hit across breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday roasts too, but the most popular dishes have been the 109-superfood bowl. Customers choose 2 greens, 2 colours, 2 seeds, nuts or berries, 1 carb, 1 protein, 1 cheese and finally 1 dressing. Ray added “I have a background in sports and fitness food also and know how people are a lot more aware of what they eat now. I couldn’t have imagined just how popular this would be though. So, we have quite a big following amongst local boxers, sports enthusiasts and those wanting to watch what they eat. For me this just adds to our wide variety of options.”

With a menu that changes with the seasons 109 Allerton will continue to evolve and the dinner menu is now becoming a very popular part of the day too.
