What is a ‘Spiegeltent’?
‘Spiegeltent’ literally translates as ‘mirror tent’ and they were created in the Flemish Regionof Belgium in the late 19th century. Spiegeltents are hand-hewn pavilions known for their wild and decadent ambiance and used for travelling dance halls, bars and bohemian entertainment salons. The magnificent round tent is made of dark wood with intricately carved panels, stained glass windows, bevelled mirrors and an impressively draped ceiling.
Its ornate beauty and mesmeric atmosphere make it a truly extraordinary venue for any event. The Spiegeltent continues a fine tradition with its exquisitely decorated performance space that is ideally suited to Christmas parties, masquerade balls, live music shindigs and food filled festive soirees.
The Spiegeltent to be erected in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle

History of Christmas at Spiegeltent
Christmas at The Spiegeltent was created by Steve Meadows in 2012 (joined by Diana Smith in 2017). For the last eight seasons, The Spiegeltent has been solely located in Bristol’s Harbourside District where it has played host to an eclectic mix of Christmas parties, world-renowned performers, big-name bands, DJs, choirs, immersive theatre shows, family friendly children’s parties and live Cabaret evenings.
The Spiegeltent’s Christmas parties are already stuff of legend and have attracted an array of people across the South West – from individuals and couples looking for something special to large corporate bookings seeking out something spectacular for their traditional festive parties.
The Spiegeltent has attracted some of the most exciting and innovative talent on the live entertainment circuit. Past events have included Ghost Poet, Don Letts, London Community Gospel Choir and Nina Conti as well as gala extravaganza events such as Masquerade Balls, Craft Beer Festivals and Electro Swing nights.

Dining experience at The Spiegeltent

The Spiegeltent is lined with booths that seat 8 guests with the rest of the seating at large round tables that accommodate between 8 and 12 guests.
